Graduate Schools

For graduate students two(2) Graduate Schools(Integrative Science and Engineering, Environmental and Information Studies) are established.
The Application Guideline is different for each graduate school, so please refer to the designated graduate school.

CHECK your eligibility

Eligibility for Entering in April

Master’s Course

Applicants who fall under any of the following criteria shall be eligible for admission to the Master’s Course of the Graduate School.
The following are the application qualifications for the general selection, so be sure to check the application guidelines.

      1. Applicants who have already graduated or are a candidate for graduation from university by the end of March 2025.
      2. Applicants who have been granted a bachelor’s degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education.
      3. Applicants who have completed 16 years of academic schooling outside of Japan or are a candidate for completion by the end of March 2025.
      4. Applicants who have completed a 16-year education course of a foreign country by taking, in Japan, a correspondence course provided by a school of that country.
      5. Applicants who have completed a course of a foreign school designated as equivalent to a foreign university in Japan (a foreign university branch in Japan designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) .
      6. Applicants who have been granted a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree by completing a course of at least three years of study at a foreign university (the evaluation must be made by an institution who has been accredited by the government or relevant organization of the foreign country with respect to the overall status of its education and research activities, etc., or be designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as equivalent to such evaluation).

      7. Applicants who have completed more than four years of a specialist course at a vocational school, which meets the criteria specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology after the date specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
      8. Applicants who have been appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
      9. Applicants who have been recognized to have abilities equivalent to those who have completed university by the Graduate School.*

      If you wish to apply under the qualifications (6) or (9), please contact us at least 30 days prior to the start of the application period to determine whether or not you are eligible to apply.

      Doctoral Course

      Applicants who fall under any of the following criteria shall be eligible for admission to the Doctoral Course of the Graduate School.
      The following are the application qualifications for the general selection, so be sure to check the application guidelines.

      1. Applicants who hold a master’s degree or professional degree, or those who are a candidate for completion by the end of March 2025.
      2. Applicants who have been granted a master’s degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree outside of Japan, or those who are a candidate for completion by the end of March 2025.
      3. Applicants who have been granted a master’s degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree by taking correspondence courses provided by a school outside of Japan in Japan.
      4. Applicants who have been completed a course of a foreign school designated as equivalent to a foreign graduate school in Japan (a foreign university branch in Japan designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (equivalent to a graduate school)) and has been granted a degree equivalent to a master’s degree or a professional degree.
      5. Applicants who have completed the courses of the United Nations University and have been granted a degree equivalent to a master’s degree.
      6. Applicants who have been appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
      7. Applicants who have been recognized by the Graduate School as having abilities equivalent to those who have completed a master’s degree or professional degree.*

      Eligibility for Entering in Second Semester

      Master’s Course

      Applicants who fall under any of the following criteria shall be eligible for admission to the Master’s Course of the Graduate School.
      The following are the application qualifications for the general selection, so be sure to check the application guidelines.

      1. Applicants who have already graduated from a university (including those who are expected to graduate by the end of September 20, 2024).
      2. Applicants who have been granted a bachelor’s degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement.
      3. Applicants who have completed 16 years of academic schooling outside of Japan (including those who are expected to complete by the end of September 20, 2024).
      4. Applicants who have completed 16 years of international correspondence courses in Japan
      5. Applicants who have completed the courses by a school outside of Japan, which are specified as equivalent to university education by the government
      6. Applicants who have been granted a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree by completing a course of at least three years of study at a foreign university (the evaluation must be made by an institution who has been accredited by the government or relevant organization of the foreign country with respect to the overall status of its education and research activities, etc., or be designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as equivalent to such evaluation ).*

      1. Applicants who hold a master’s degree or professional degree (including those who are expected to acquire the degree by the end of September 20 2024).
      2. Applicants who have been granted a master’s degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree outside of Japan (including those who are expected to acquire the degree by the end of September 20 2024).
      3. Applicants who have been granted a degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree by taking correspondence courses provided by a school outside of Japan in Japan.
      4. Applicants who have been granted a master’s degree or a degree equivalent to a professional degree by taking correspondence courses provided by a school outside of Japan in Japan and specified as equivalent to a graduate school outside of Japan.
      5. Applicants who have completed the courses of the United Nations University and have been granted a degree equivalent to a master’s degree.
      6. Applicants who have been appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
      7. Applicants who have been recognized to have abilities equivalent to those who have completed a master’s degree or professional degree by the Graduate School.*

FIND your preferred supervisor

  1. Visit to 「Study at TCU > Graduate > ”Integrative Science and Engineering” or “Environmental and Information Studies” → Select a “program name”」
  2. Perform the “Keyword Search” or move to “Academic Staff”

or

  1. 1. Visit to 「Research > Researcher’s Database」
  2. Perform the “keyword search”

CONTACT your preferred supervisor and REQUEST an acceptance letter

If you can find his / her contact address:

  1. Send your CV, Research Plan and Research Achievement directly to him/her.

If not:

  1. Download and fill in the “Admission Consultation Sheet”.
  2. Email to appropriate Academic Support Center “sckyoumu@tcu.ac.jp” or “yckyoumu@tcu.ac.jp” with the sheet, CV, Research Plan and Research Achievement. (Please check the instruction at the top part of “Admission Consultation Sheet”.)
