Profile My specialty is industrial engineering and business management, especially business model planning and program/project management. I have over 20 years' theoretical and practical study experience on those areas in Japanese manufacturer.
In those domains, one of my research interest is development of methodology for business modelling and simulation. For sustainable development, contributions of enterprises would be essential. Enterprises should transform their own business models for sustainable development. To plan effectively their business model transformation, methodology to design their new business models and to computationally simulate them to confirm the feasibility would be demanded. Our laboratory is trying to understand the business context mechanisms from business case studies and establish the library/database of them with simulatable model representation based on system dynamics. Moreover, the business model CAD (Computer Aided Design) system developing, will be able to support the planning of new business model by using the business context mechanism library/database. Also the enterprise information mining method is being developed. This method would be able to extract useful information from the companies' disclosure document by applying data/text mining technique, in order to obtain the clue for understanding business context mechanisms.
Another my research interest is PPPM (Portfolio, Program and Project Management). To successfully perform their business model transformation, program and project management would be essential, because business model transformation would be realized by conducting program/project. Portfolio management would be also important under the limitation of resources. I conducting PPPM researches by applying project behavior simulator and machine learning agents which are able to learn quasi-optimal project management action rules.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Business modelling and simulation for sustainable development

In business model planning, the key for success is share the concepts and impacts of new business models with not only planning members but also various stakeholders. To share the concepts an impacts, we have to describe the concept of business models and to share the impacts of them in reasonable and effective way.

  2. (2) Program and project management for business transformation

To transform into new business models successfully, program and project management are essential, because social or business transformations are conducted by program and project activities rather than routine operation for repeatability. There are various research approaches for program and project management, however unique difficulties are in this research field, because of the characteristics such as uniqueness, long term, few samples, and impact criticality. Therefore, we are studying them base upon constructive approach, that is computer simulation approach.
