Profile In Nagamori Laboratory, we use functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure cerebral blood flow and physiological indices such as gaze and stress to evaluate design objects and to elucidate the mechanism of design activities. We also focus on the evaluation of sensory perceptions such as beauty and comfort that people feel when they touch the design. At the same time, I would like to deal with production-type research that involves the production of video, booklets, and other printed works.
The theme of the research type will be human creative activities, especially design, and we will investigate the mechanism of design activities by measuring brain activity and stress while doing so, as well as research to evaluate sensory perceptions such as the goodness, beauty, and comfort of design.
The themes of the production type or research and production type are practical production on the theme of information design, and research and investigation necessary for production.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Kansei evaluation

We will quantitatively examine the design process, which is a human sensory activity, using physiological and behavioral measurement devices such as cerebral blood flow measurement and eye tracking.

  2. (2) Design evaluation

We quantitatively evaluate and study the sensory reactions of people when they come into contact with designs, such as the sensations of beauty, cuteness, and comfort.

  3. (3) Graphic Design

Practical production of graphic design, and investigation and research necessary for production.
