Profile |
My specialty is applications of evolutionary computation algorithms. Evolutionary computation algorithms are often applied for solving optimization problems. I have worked on various problems in the different fields as follows.
- Automatic music composition adapted to personal sensibility
- Generation of a corporate sound logo
- Generation of a melody for musicians' creative activities
- Predicting return date of rental unit houses
- Reduction of both cost and CO2 emissions in the vehicle routing and cargo allocation problem
- Tailor-made selection of policy measures for households
- Evaluation of household micro-data for land-use microsimulation models
- Modifiable attribute cell problem in population synthesis for land-use microsimulation |
Research Field(Keyword & Summary) |
- Symbiotic Evolution
Many types of genetic algorithm have been proposed. Symbiotic evolution was proposed for forming Neural Networks. It maintains two separate populations: a population of partial solutions and a population of whole solutions, and results in a fast, efficient genetic search and prevents convergence to suboptimal solutions. In my research, its effectiveness had been demonstrated in not only Neural Networks but also Inductive Logic Programming, generating decision trees.
- Automatic music composition
We develop automatic systems that compose music adapted to personal sensibility. These systems induce a personal sensibility model by using a listener’s emotional impressions of music and compose music based on the model using evolutionary computation algorithms. These systems are also used to support professional musicians' creative activities.
