Tokyo City University is actively involved in cooperation with overseas universities and other institutions, and runs a variety of international programmes to develop practical skills acknowledged worldwide, the university has a range of programmes as follow as;

Partner University Agreement with overseas

At present, we have agreements with more than 40 universities, and we are looking forward to the results of our cooperation.

AOFUA program

Tokyo City University has formed an alliance with four excellent universities in the Asia-Oceania region, which are less time zones away from Japan, to promote exchange programme, double degree programs and others to improve the quality of education and research.
This alliance was created to contribute to global partnership and technological advancement between the five countries and to strengthening the education of global leaders in the Asia-Oceania region.

Sakura Science Exchange Program

The Sakura Science Exchange Program is a programme implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) with the budget of the Japanese government to promote exchanges between universities and students.
Tokyo City University has been actively promoting the use of this programme and has welcomed many overseas students to date. As a result, we have expanded the possibilities of cooperation with many overseas universities. Such exchanges with students from abroad provide important opportunities to improve the quality of education and to develop a broader perspective.

Global Scale Innovator Program for Sustainable Society (GIPS)

With support from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), a unique programme (Global Scale Innovator Program for Sustainable Society (GIPS)) has been launched in 2021 to bring together postgraduate students from abroad with Japanese postgraduate students to study and research.
International students participating in this programme will also be eligible for Japanese government scholarships if they meet the requirements.
This programme is expected to lead the new Tokyo City University’s collaboration with overseas universities and students in the future.
