Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Nanoscale servo control in hard disk drive (HDD)

In order to realize Society 5.0, it is desired to increase the recording capacity of the HDD. The recording capacity depends on the accuracy of the positioning control system of the magnetic head that reads and writes data on the disk. Therefore, I have been conducting research on nanoscale servo control to improve the positioning accuracy of the magnetic head of HDDs.

  2. (2) Control method that compensates for rotational synchronous vibration using Active magnetic bearing

Typical vibrations in rotating machines are vibrations synchronized with rotation, and research to compensate for it using AMB is being vigorously pursued. In this research, we first developed an optimal design method in terms of both stability and control performance based on the Nyquist diagram. This makes it possible to optimize with a common evaluation index called frequency response regardless of the control method.
