Profile My research field is trying to create novel materials by re-examining natural chemicals such as kakishibu, tea catechin, and so on that have been used in Japan for a long time by utilizing the current organic chemistry and polymer chemistry. Therefore, our research group needs to read old Japanese literatures to find out how old people made and used these chemicals. We should consult the past if you want to learn about the future. Old literatures have a lot to teach us.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Modification of traditional Japanese chemicals

Novel polymers are synthesized from traditional Japanese chemicals such as Kakishibu utilizing organic synthesis.

  2. (2) Synthesis of organic-inorganic polymer hybrid materials

We will try to synthesize a new material consisting of polymers derived from Kakishibu and silica glass.
