Profile Yue Bao became a professor in the Visual Media Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo City University in 2004. Prior to that, he was an assistant at Kanazawa University since 1996, a lecturer at Yokohama National University since 1998, and then an associate professor. Until 2003, he mainly worked on mobile robots, automatic guidance of automobiles, robot vision, laser sensing, glasses-free 3D display, 3D image processing and image processing for people with disabilities such as page turning machines. Since 2004, he has collaborated with local companies in various fields and focused on research that is practical for those fields. For example, remote control of construction equipment using 3D vision, non-GPS automatic guidance of drones, aerial Floating 3D display, sophistication of tunnel construction management using 3D visual data, classification of Satsuma potatoes by using AI, beef and bread quality inspection by fractal analysis, defect detection of concrete buildings, automobile parts, glass bottles, etc. by using AI, voice training support system for hearing-impaired people by using the 3D shape of human mouth. He is interested in research areas such as 3D imaging, XR, industrial image processing, construction automation / safety improvement, remote control, and vehicle automation.
