Profile Our laboratory is exploring interior space and architectural design that is close to human sensibilities and behavioral characteristics such as "healing, hospitality, and liveliness" as "urban life science". Especially in the doctoral program, the main research target is the internal space such as housing, public facilities, station environment, etc., and while correctly sensing various human behaviors there and using mathematical analysis technology such as crowd flow simulation and digital twin environment, From the perspective of design science, we provide research and dissertation guidance that contributes to solving various planning problems. Specific examples include research on the basic design of a canopy bed that maintains a stable sleep effect, and research on the affinity between micro mobility and pedestrian behavior in a station environment. We would love to have admission of everybody.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Crowd simulation on BIM

In the open spaces and commercial facilities of the city, the movement of people shows some kind of "flow streak" or "typical of movement".This grouping phenomenon is because it exhibits "crowd behavior" from a macro perspective. For example, in a commuting crowd, people next to each other unknowingly form a line and take evasive action.Mathematical models replace this with magnetic particle behavior, enabling "crowd simulation" on BIM and CAD.

  2. (2) Research on residential windows that improve refreshing abilities

Modern living spaces are required to have the ability to efficiently relieve the stress and fatigue of residents. The purpose of this study is to try to quantify the fatigue recovery performance of living space by several types of physiological measurements. A) Measurement of "mental fatigue" ... Flicker value, B) Measurement of "stress value": Amount of amylase secreted in saliva, C) Measurement of "work concentration" ... Blink value (blink frequency of eyes)
