Profile From the perspective of life span development, I am exploring Japanese consciousness structure, child care, education and different cultures. In particular this is the first study in Japan on the consiousness of "Kigane". It is peculiar to Japanese people, and is a difficult concept to transfer into English.
In recent years, I have been studying career ladders for child care workers, training linked to them, and prevention of turnover. I am considering career ladder and training that support the growth process of child care workers. At the request of the local government, I advise child care workers at a nursery school as a psychological supervisor about children with developmental disabilities and concerns. I also recieve consultation from parents and child care workers. Their clinical experience is put to good use in my research and education. I am trying to do research that can be used in the field of child care.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1)Japanese consciousness structre:Kigane

""Kigane"" is considered to be a typical defense mechanisum and is a difficult concept to transfer into English.
It is roughly equivalent to ""being hesitant"" or ""feeling constraint"" in doing something. While it can be stressful to suppress their feelings, it also helps to facilitate communication among Japanese people.

  2. (2)Career ladder for child care worker

Career ladder for child care workers were delayed in construction comparared to career ladders for caregivers and nurses. By building a carrer ladder, it is thought that goals will be set, motivation will be maintained, and it will lead to prevention of employee turnover.
