Profile My research field is architectural planning, especially educational facility planning and regional facility planning. Research on educational facility planning aims to provide useful insights in planning facilities for elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and universities. The spaces and facilities to be researched are classrooms and open spaces in elementary schools, and the facilities for departmentalized classroom system in junior high schools. We conduct empirical research based on observation surveys, questionnaire surveys, and hearing surveys of children, students, and teachers. We are also conducting a survey and analysis on the relationship between educational facility development plans and constructed facilities in local governments. The research results are published in Journal of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Engineering and Summaries of Technical Papers of Annual Meeting Architectural Institute of Japan.
Research Field(Keyword & Summary)
  1. (1) Open space in elementary school

In elementary school facilities, open space is important as a space for responding to the diversification of learning. The purpose of this study is to obtain useful knowledge when planning open spaces in future elementary schools. To that end, we will understand the usage of open space and the evaluation of teachers, and clarify the advantages and problems.

  2. (2) Departmentalized classroom system in junior high school

In the school building for departmentalized classroom system, subject classrooms, subject media spaces, home bases, etc. will be installed. In this study, we will grasp the actual situation of the introduction of the departmentalized classroom system nationwide and clarify the characteristics of the planning aspect of the subject classroom type school building. In addition, we will clarify the results and issues by conducting a questionnaire survey of teachers and students who are using the actual the departmentalized classroom system school building and grasping the usage situation and evaluation of the school building.
