Profile | According to TIMMS2019 results, the percentage of Japanese middle school students who said "studying science is fun" was below the international average, even though their science scores are among the highest internationally. Also Japan has the worst percentage of women going into STEM(Scinece, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields among OECD countries. To come up with a solution to this problems, my research interest is to develop science communication programs such as science classes, science cafes, and science shows, etc., and to explore their effectiveness. Using research methods such as participant observation, interviews and statistical analysis of questionnaires, we will explore the practical meaning in the educational fields. |
